JACKSON CO., Kan. (WIBW) -- Sentencing has been scheduled for a Jackson County Employee who stole from the county's Landfill and Weed Departments.

Janette Lyn Fund entered a no contest plea Friday morning to 20 counts of creating false information and 20 counts of misdemeanor theft.

Fund was accused of stealing about $16,000.00 while employed as an administrative assistant with the Department from April 2011 to July of 2013.

Authorities say they found Fund with cash she'd supposedly deposited the day before. They say she falsified accounting to cover the losses.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 13th.
