Woman Sentenced To 32 Months For Involuntary Manslaughter

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A woman charged with involuntary manslaughter following a 2006 accident has learned her fate.

Kristen Brownlee was sentenced on Tuesday to two years and eight months in prison followed by two years of post release supervision on one count of involuntary manslaughter.

Three other charges, including one count of involuntary manslaughter in the commission of a DUI, were previously dismissed.

Brownlee was heading eastbound on Southwest 29th Street when she drifted into the westbound lane and hit a pick-up truck head-on, killing passenger Ma Del Socorro Balderas.
