NEWTON, Kan. (AP) — One woman is in critical condition and another has non-life-threatening injuries after their car was broadsided by a semitrailer in Harvey County.
Master Trooper J.W. Dryden tells KWCH-TV the accident happened Wednesday evening on U.S. Highway 50. He says the driver of a white car passed several vehicles and attempted to make a U-turn. He says the semi hit the car while it was turning around.
The 18-year-old driver was flown to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. Another passenger was taken to a Newton hospital. A third was uninjured.
The semi driver was not injured. No charges were reported.
Their names haven't been released.
