WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — A baby is in the Intensive Care Unit following a suspected case of child abuse.
Shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, parents brought a 4-month old boy to a Wichita hospital. The child was suffering from bleeding on the brain and had bruises on his body. Police were called and the infant was placed in protective custody.
Officers interviewed the boy's mother and father, but said their stories didn't match on how the child was injured. They arrested 24-year-old Alex Trueblood for aggravated battery and child endangerment, and 23-year-old Audrey Davis for child endangerment.
The child remains in the ICU, but police say his condition is stable.
