WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — A baby is hospitalized in critical condition after being found face-down in a bathtub.
Around 3 p.m. Thursday, a 28-year-old woman brought her 8-month-old baby girl to Via Christi Hospital St. Joseph.
She told doctors that she had stepped out of the room while the baby had been taking a bath with her two-year-old brother. When she came back, the child was face-down in the water and wasn't breathing. She said she gave the child CPR before taking her to the hospital.
The child is hospitalized in critical condition with water in her lungs.
Police are investigating, and have taken both children into protective custody.
