TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Drivers might run into a high-tech slow down on I-70 next week through the Capital City.
The Kansas Department of Transporation says all traffic on the highway will be reduced to one lane in both directions for about three-quarters of a mile between the Gage Blvd. exit and the bride over Macvicar Ave. Work is expected to begin Sunday, December 15th.
Crews will be installing conductor and fiber optic cable for a transmission line that's crossing the highway. The line will run from Westar's new education station at Kanza Park to the Goodyear substation.
Work should be completed by next Thursday.
