TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- After the mall attack that killed dozens in Nairobi, Kenya, Topeka officials are making sure the mall at home is safe.
West Ridge Mall is hosting an emergency preparedness drill with the Topeka Police Department to ensure staff know what to do in unforeseen circumstances.
Mall employees and staff will go through multiple emergency scenarios and the appropriate security steps in order to acclimate the staff to proper procedures, should an emergency happen.
The drill will take place at the mall at 6 p.m.
