Weight Room Warrior: K-State's Thomas Gipson

By  |

MANHATTAN, Kansas (WIBW) – Kansas State's big man, Thomas Gipson, is a weight-room veteran.

The current 6'7", 265-pounder first committed to strength and conditioning training in 8th-grade, then never looked back. Gipson continued his intense workout habits throughout high school in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Gipson recognized K-State Basketball strength coach, Jimmy Price, as a key component to his collegiate success. Price develops strength and conditioning routines that are player specific, meaning it's based on the athlete's specific needs and goals.

In the 2013-2014 season, Gipson displayed his effectiveness on both sides of the ball. As a junior he was KSU's second leading scorer (averaged 11.7 points) and recorded a team high of 202 rebounds (averaged 6.5 per game).
