TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The water is back on in southwest Topeka.
Crews completed repairs just before 8 pm Monday on a water transmission line near SW 37th and Belle. The line feeds the Sherwood Tower, so homes and businesses in southwest Topeka, including rural water districts, were told to limit water use Monday afternoon.
City spokesperson Dave Bevens says about 40 customers lost water entirely during repairs.
The transmission line was among 14 water line breaks crews were working Monday. Bevens says a private contractor was brought in to assist city crews with getting repairs completed as quickly as possible.
