MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Wamego man was found guilty on charges linked to a 2013 shooting in a Manhattan motel parking lot. Dustin Monroe pleaded no contest to two counts of Aggravated Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer and a lone count of felony Criminal Discharge of a Firearm.
In exchange for his plea, two other counts of Aggravated Assault and a felony Criminal Damage to Property were dismissed.
Monroe was allegedly firing a weapon outside the Quality In on Poyntz Ave. when officers returned fire, hitting him in the leg and upper chest.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 14.
