WPD: Sex offender Arrested For Fondling Self Watching Kids Swim

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — Wichita Police say a convicted sex offender was arrested last night, after allegedly fondling himself while watching kids swim in a pool.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the pool inside the downtown YMCA at 402 N. Market. Numerous children were swimming in the pool when two of them saw a man watching them and acting strangely. The eight and nine-year-old girls told other adults, who called police.

Officers responded and arrested 39-year-old Charles Douglas Miller. Police say he's a registered sex offender, convicted in 2005 of a misdemeanor sex crime against a three-year-old girl in California. He was convicted last year in Sedgwick County of failing to register as a sex offender, and is currently in community corrections.

Miller is in custody at the Sedgwick County Jail. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
