The offices of WIBW-TV will be closed for public business Thursday.

Staff members will take Thursday off to remember the life of Lisa Chapman, WIBW's Regional Sales Manager who lost her courageous battle with cancer Sunday.

All 13 Newscasts will air on WIBW as scheduled.

Lisa Marie Chapman
(July 23, 1977 - September 29, 2013)

Lisa Marie Chapman, 36, of Topeka, KS passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born July 23, 1977 in Topeka the daughter of Jim and Pam (Eubanks) Schumann.

Lisa graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1995 and graduated from Kansas State University in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in marketing. She worked for WTVM in Columbus, GA for 4 years and worked 9 years at WIBW as regional sales manager. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Topeka and served on the Board of Directors for Race Against Breast Cancer.

Lisa married Jesse S. Chapman on August 1, 1998 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Netawaka, KS. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her parents, Jim and Pam Schumann of Netawaka, KS; 2 sons, Braden Stewart and Tyler Andrew Chapman both of the home; 2 brothers, Brad Schumann (Chastity) of Netawaka, KS and Kyle Schumann (Nicole) of Topeka, KS; paternal grandparents, Walter and Edith Schumann of Holton, KS; father and mother-in-law, Ernie and Sharon Chapman of Rockledge, FL; 4 nephews, Matt, Brandon and Ryan Schumann and Briley Chapman and a niece, Jaycee Schumann. She was preceded in death by a son, Cameron Drew Chapman on May 27, 2009 and a maternal grandmother, Mayetta Eubanks-Cahill.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Netawaka Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Memorials may be given to the Chapman Children’s Education Fund or RABC sent c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
