WIBW-TV Station Intruder Contests Criminal Record

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)__The criminal history and motion for a new trial for the man charged with breaking into WIBW-TV and assaulting 4 employees last May, will be decided this coming thursday at 9 AM.

Assistant District Attorney Veronica Desch tells 13 News that Ray Miles is contesting to have two prior offenses in Arkansas taken off his record in order to get a lesser sentence on the kansas sentencing grid.

Ray Miles had been due in court late February on four felony battery charges. One misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property, but judge Evelyn Wilson delayed sentencing until April 24th.
