Volunteers Honored For Work With Abused, Neglected Children

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A special group of volunteers were honored Wednesday night.

Volunteers with CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, were recognized during their annual ceremony at Grace Cathedral.

The volunteers are chosen by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children involved in the court system.

Citizen Review Board Volunteers were also honored for their work to help review foster care cases, making suggestions to those involved in the case and to the judge.
