Volunteers Get Their Hands Dirty To Keep Community Clean

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)_ Volunteers got their rakes, garden gloves and trash bags out Saturday in an effort to make Topeka more beautiful.

For the 5th year in a row, Hands on Topeka volunteers from more than 15 local United Methodist churches raked, and cleaned up schools, parks, nursing homes and cemeteries Saturday from 8:45 in the morning until noon.

Clean up projects were held at 7 locations, including Topeka High School.

Volunteers also say they hope their outreach makes a difference in the world beyond church doors.
