TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A man helped Topeka Police nab the man suspected of trying to break into his truck.
Topeka Police were called around 11:15 am Wednesday to a possible fight outside the Red Cross building, 1311 SW 17th St. When they arrived, officers learned a man interrupted a suspect breaking into his truck across the street, chased him down on foot, and detained him until Topeka Police officers and Shawnee Co. Sheriff's deputies arrived.
Topeka Police say the suspect complained of minor injuries from where he was apparently punched by the victim. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance to be checked out, then booked into the Shawnee County jail.
Authorities had not released the suspect's name as of early Wednesday afternoon. Anyone with additional information should contact TPD detectives at 785-368-9400 or Topeka Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.
