Vandals Cause $250K In Damage To Junction City School

On 052713 at 08:19 hours, Junction City Police Officers responded to three Juveniles in custody for shoplifting at Dollar General at 924 W. 6th St.

During the preliminary investigation items from Westwood School were located on the juvenile’s persons. Officers responded to Westwood School, 1600 N. Eisenhower St. and discovered extensive damage throughout the school. A preliminary estimate of the damage is believed to be in excess of $250,000.00.

Two 15 and one 16 year old were taken in to custody and charged with Burglary, Theft, Felony Damage to Property and Conspiracy.

Officers and detectives were at the school Monday assessing the damage and processing the crime scene. Investigators tell WIBW that a significant amount of equipment at the school was damaged during the incident.
