MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The United Way celebrated a special milestone Friday evening in Downtown Manhattan.

Community members were invited to join the United Way at J&C Imaging to celebrate 70 years of service to the area.

Over the years United Way has provided multiple core services to Manhattan and the surrounding communities, including legal, educational, health, and financial assistance.

"We continue to increase demand, so we continue to need to raise more money to help more families, to help more children," said Vice President of Communications & Marketing Jeff Morris. "And we like to tell people, if you have a child you want to help and you can’t think of the best way to help that child then come see United Way because we have a lot of ways to help those children. So we want to help more children and families in our community."

United Way will wrap up its 70th year anniversary with a Pillars celebration on Sunday.
