JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A Junction City man and a former Fort Riley soldier are in custody in New York after a cross-country crime spree.

Glens Falls, N.Y., police arrested 20-year-old Anthony Aubin, of Junction City, and 21-year-old Joshua Palladeno, of California, on Monday in a stolen, $125,000 SUV. The arrests came after Junction City police traced one of the men's cell phones to New York.

Junction City police say Aubin stole more than $23,000 by posing as homeowners in Junction City and taking deposits from renters for houses that they didn't own.

The two are charged in New York with possession of stolen property and being fugitives from justice. They're also wanted in Washington, Nebraska, Florida and Rhode Island in connection with car thefts.

Glens Falls police did not know if either man had hired an attorney.
