Two Killed In Riley County Accident

RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) - Two people were killed following an accident in Riley County Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened just before 4:00 p.m. in the 4600 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard in Manhattan.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a Toyota car, driven by 90 year old Frederick Danenberg of Manhattan, pulled out in front of a semi truck that was traveling westbound on U24.

Danenberg and his passenger, 85 year old Michael Myers, also of Manhattan, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi truck, 23 year old Christian Rodriguez, was not injured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol and Riley County Police are working a fatal accident in Riley County.

It happened around 3:50 p.m. in the 4600 Block of Tuttle Creek Blvd.

Northbound and Southbound lanes were closed but southbound has reopened as of 4:30 p.m.

Officer Matt Droge with the Riley County Police Dept. said it's unclear how many people have died and how many were injured.

He said there were two cars involved but was unsure of the makes and models.
