SPORTING KC DUO SELECTED TO U.S. MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
Sporting Kansas City defender Matt Besler and midfielder Graham Zusi were named to the U.S. Men's National Team roster on Monday for a pair of 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Both players joined the U.S. MNT in Denver on Sunday in preparation for matches against Costa Rica at home on Friday and away at Mexico on March 26.
Both Sporting KC players return to the U.S. Men's National Team for a third time this year, including a trip to Honduras last month for the United States' opening match in the Final Round of 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.
Fans can join the Kansas City chapter of American Outlaws to watch Friday's game at Haus in Martini Corner (3044 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108).
ROBB HEINEMAN RECEIVES FORTY UNDER 40 HONOR
Sporting Club CEO Robb Heineman was named to Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal's Forty Under 40 Class of 2013, the publication announced on Tuesday.
SBJ, the industry's leading weekly publication, has annually identified and honored the most promising young executives in sports business under the age of 40 since 1999. A committee of editors and writers select the award winners from among hundreds of nominations received each year.
Heineman is one of four individuals chosen for the distinction for a second straight year, along with Portland Timbers Owner and President Merritt Paulson. The duo recently shared the No. 23 ranking on Sports Illustrated's list of the "50 Most Powerful People in U.S. Soccer."

Graham Zusi is one of several MLS players featured in Major League Soccer's 2013 Don't Cross The Line campaign. The program promotes unity, respect, fair play, equality and acceptance throughout the soccer community. Other stars in the campaign are Dwayne De Rosario, Robbie Keane and Thierry Henry.

SPORTING KC DRAWS 0-0 WITH CHICAGO FIRE IN HOME OPENER
Sporting Kansas City drew 0-0 with the Chicago Fire in front of a sold-out crowd on Saturday afternoon at Sporting Park. Despite controlling nearly 75% of the game's possession and outshooting the Fire 20-7, Sporting Kansas City settled with a scoreless draw in their 2013 home opener.
SPORTING KC LOANS FOUR PLAYERS TO USL PRO AFFILIATE ORLANDO CITY
Sporting Kansas City loaned four players to the team's official USL PRO affiliate Orlando City Soccer Club. Goalkeeper Jon Kempin, defender Yann Songo'o, midfielder Christian Duke and forward Dom Dwyer joined the Lions in preparation for their USL PRO season opener on April 7.
Sporting Kansas City entered into a two-year agreement with Orlando
City SC in January in conjunction with Major League Soccer and USL PRO's new multi-year partnership. Orlando City is led by Manager Adrian Heath, the USL PRO's Coach of the Year each of the past two seasons, and were crowned USL PRO champions in 2011.

SPORTING PARK TO HOST 2013 MLS ALL-STAR GAME, VERMES NAMED COACH
Kansas City will be the host city for the 2013 MLS All-Star Game . The annual showcase event will feature three days of festivities, culminating in a match between the League's top players and a renowned international club on Wednesday, July 31 at Sporting Park, home of Sporting Kansas City.
The 2013 MLS All-Star Game will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. CT on
the ESPN, Univision, TSN and RDS family of networks. Exact networks will be announced at a later date. Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes, a finalist for MLS Coach of the Year each of the last two seasons, will coach the 2013 MLS All-Stars.
The 2013 All-Star Game will mark the 10th time that an elite international club has played the MLS All-Stars, who are 6-2-1 in those matches. In addition to honoring the best players in MLS, the game has featured successful, world-famous clubs such as Manchester United (2010 & 2011), Everton FC (2009), Chelsea FC (2006 & 2012), and Chivas de Guadalajara (2003). The opponent for this year's game will be announced at a later date.
