Two Arrested After Short Police Chase In Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Two individuals are behind bars after leading police on a short chase through Topeka.

Topeka Police Corporal Joey Schulmeister says shortly after 5:50 p.m. he attempted stop a vehicle for a turn signal violation near SW Fillmore St. and Huntoon.

The vehicle attempted to elude Corporal Schulmeister heading south before it crashed into a tree near SW Fillmore and SW Douthitt Avenue.

Both the driver and passenger had felony warrants out for their arrests and were booked into Shawnee County Jail.

Police have not released the names of the two individuals.
