TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The trial date for a man accused of kidnapping and killing a little girl in Topeka has been postponed.

Billy Davis faces charges including capital murder, rape and aggravated kidnapping for the death of 8-year-old Ahliyah Irvin in March.

Police say Davis took her from an apartment to a nearby apartment where he was staying, then raped and killed her, and stuffed her body in a clothes dryer.

His jury trial will begin on October 7. If convicted, Davis could face the death penalty.
