Topekan Injured In Lawrence Shooting

LAWRENCE, Kan. –(WIBW) A Topeka resident was injured in Lawrence after a gun fight broke out at a pool party.

Sergeant Trent McKinley with the Lawrence Police Department says officers responded to the Grove Apartments at 4301 West 24th place shortly after 2:30 Saturday morning.

Officers believe a large group had gathered at the pool after bar close when one or more individuals fired multiple shots into the crowd striking at least one subject.

An 18 year old Topeka resident was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance where he was treated and released.
