TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- USD 501 officials say a student's arm was discovered broken following a fight amongst students at Capital City Schools Wednesday.

The district released the following information on Friday:

On Wednesday of this week, a couple of students got into a physical altercation in a classroom at Capital City Schools. The two students were separated. As campus police escorted one of the students from the classroom, he continued to struggle, so officers slowly lowered him to the ground to keep him from hurting himself or others. After he calmed down, it was discovered that his arm was injured. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance where it was determined he had broken his arm. At this point, we are not sure when the arm injury occurred.
