TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 55-year-old Topeka woman was killed in a rollover accident in eastern Wabaunsee County Wednesday night.
Sheriff Doug Howser said Thursday morning that a passing motorist discovered the accident at 11:20 p.m. in the area of Echo Cliff Road and Harveyville Road. Sheriff Howser said the accident was believed to have just occurred. AMR, and frst responders from Dover and Harveyville, worked the accident with Wabaunsee County Sheriff's deputies.
Christy Ann Givens was identified as the driver of the vehicle, which was a 2002 GMC Yukon. Howser said authorities determined Givens was ejected when the Yukon left the roadway and rolled. It's believed she was not wearing a seatbelt.
Givens was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Sheriff Howser said it is unknown if alcohol was a contributing factor, and the accident is actively being investigated.
