TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- Topeka first baby of the New Year was born Tuesday morning at St Francis Hospital's New Life Center.
Diego Alexander Chamberlain arrived at 4:16 a.m, weighing six pounds and six ounces.
First-time parents Audrey Chamberlain, 21, and Esteban Santiago, 28, both of Topeka, said they were "nervous and excited."
"I'd give anything for him," Santiago said.
Twin babies were born at 4:58 a.m. at the Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. A spokeswoman said the hospital has seen six births by 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Fort Riley Hospital reported its first birth of the new year at 7:52 a.m.
