Officers of the Topeka Police Department were dispatched to a 911 call at the Family Dollar Store at 1313 SW 21st reference a report of shots fired or a possible shooting.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Officers of the Topeka Police Department were dispatched to a 911 call at the Family Dollar Store at 1313 SW 21st reference a report of shots fired or a possible shooting.

On arrival officers made contact with a victim who reported being shot at by a suspect he is acquainted with. The victim was struck by a bullet fragment and suffered minor injury. He refused medical treatment at the scene. The store, which was open and occupied by both employees and customers, was also struck by several bullets. The suspect, reported to be a black male driving a black Cadillac, left the scene after firing the shots.

This investigation is on-going.
