Topeka Rotary Foundation Awarded $18,000 In Community Grants

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- An area club presented grants to local organizations that focus on children, education and health in the Capital City.

The Topeka Rotary Foundation presented Antioch Family Life Center with $2,100 for a summer reading program for 50 school age children.

Junior League, received $2,500, to establish a sustainable diaper bank to provide diaper assistance to those in need.

Marian Clinic received $2,960, to upgrade equipment in the medical rooms.

Topeka North Outreach was given a $3,500, to provide funding for the "Operation Backpack" program.

Topeka Youth Project received $1,500, for laptop computers for use in the Juvenile Youth Authority Program.

The Topeka Housing Authority was given $3,580 to enhance and expand operations of the newly opened Aquaponic Facility.

And the YWCA, Girls on the Run received $1,860 for an after school program focused on positive, social and physical development for girls.

In total the Rotary Foundation Awarded $18,000 in grants.
