TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka Public Works Director Mike Teply is retiring.
He will be leaving his position April 30th.
Teply has been the Director for 18 years, and was responsible for traffic and transportation operations, engineering services and construction management, and was involved in the half-cent sales tax program among others.
The city has been in recruitment for several weeks, and Teply will assist with the transition to a new Director.
Teply says he's looking forward to more biking and golfing, and spending his retirement with his wife and children and grandchildren.
