Topeka Police Stop More Than 200 Vehicles During Sobriety Check Lane

TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Saturday evening the Topeka Police Department conducted a sobriety check lane, choosing one out of several possible locations.

Police were in the 200-300 block of southwest Gage from 11 p.m. to 2:19 a.m. Sunday morning.

Listed are the results of the check lane:

Total vehicles stopped - 206
DUI arrests - 4
Refusal of preliminary breath tests - 1
Open containers citations - 2
Warrant arrests - 1
Drug arrests - 1
Other citations - 5

Officers working the check lane were on overtime funded by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
