TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The number of homicides in Topeka last year has now risen to 12, after police this week say a woman found in a motel was killed.

The woman has been identified as, 39, Lena Keithley. Maintenance workers found her body in November in a room at the Country Club Motel.

Topeka Police had been waiting for test results before determining a cause of death, they'd said it was suspicious.

On Tuesday, they tell us the case is officially being investigated as a homicide, but no suspect information is available.

They're also not yet releasing how Keithley died. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
