TOPEKA, Kan, (WIBW)- Topeka Police say a caller reported an armed robbery Saturday night at a local gas station and very shortly after the call, police say they caught the suspect.
Topeka Police say a gas station clerk called to report an armed robbery around 9:15 Saturday night at 2024 Southeast California.
The caller said a black male wearing a white-t-shirt, blue bandana and black baseball hat went into the gas station with a knife and demanded money and then fled.
Just a few minutes later, Topeka Police officers say they found a black male matching the description of the suspect and took him into custody at the 1800 block of Southeast Morrison.
The male had the same clothing, bandana, hat, and knife as the caller described.
The investigation is still ongoing. Police told 13 news they are not releasing the man's name.
