Rape Suspect Allegedly Kidnapped Holton Woman, Brought To Topeka

HOLTON, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office now have the man in custody who was wanted for attempted murder, rape, mutilation and kidnapping.

Filip Chase Joseph Rosario, 35, of Topeka, was believed to be in the Topeka area and was arrested in the parking lot 2955 SW McClure Road around 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

Filip is allegedly involved in the rape and kidnapping of a Holton woman Thursday and Friday.

Authorities said the victim, who was just released from the hospital, knows Rosario.

Authorities say he allegedly took the victim by car to Topeka where she escaped and called authorities. She received treatment at a Topeka hospital.

Rosario was taken into Jackson County custody at the county line.

Authorities say he faces charges of attempted capital murder, criminal sodomy, criminal threat, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery rape and domestic battery.

Rosario's bond is currently set at $100,000.
