TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- Last week, many viewers sent in pictures of a naked man walking the streets of Topeka.

13 News learned from Topeka Police and the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department that this activity is legal.

And one city council woman is planning to introduce a city ordinance.

"Like how could somebody do that? There are so many kids around here why would somebody do that?," said Jason Wassinger.

Last week, Jason Wassinger and his family saw a naked man walking down Burlingame Road in Topeka.

His wife called the police, but they said there was nothing they could do.

"I had constituents call me who said there's somebody nude walking in our district and the police say they can't do anything about it because there is no ordinance," said Michelle De La Isla.

"I don't walk down the street or mow my grass walking like that," said Jason.

"What I'm trying to do is create a tool that way T.P.D. or any sort of emergency tech is able to assess somebody. We want to make sure this doesn't happen in a school because nobody wants their kids to be exposed to naked people," said Michelle De La Isla.

And Jason agrees.

"I think its good.I mean it should have been done a long time ago," said Jason.

Michelle will introduce this idea to City Council at the meeting on Tuesday, September 9th.
