TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 22-year-old Topeka man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the second of two fatal shootings that happened in Topeka on Tuesday.
Jesus-Daniel Valadez-Soto is being held on a charge of first degree murder for the death of 75-year-old Hugo Jimenez, Sr.
Around 4:40 pm, Topeka Police received a call of a shooting outside a bus station known as Autobuses Los Paisonos at 200 SE Quincy. Officers found Jimenez dead of a gunshot wound.
The location is near the Law Enforcement Center.
Lt. Ron Gish says a witness told police he heard a shot and found the victim. Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived and confirmed the victim had been shot and was dead.
Topeka man are identified as the victims in a pair of unrelated Tuesday shooting deaths.
Topeka Police continue looking for suspects in the first fatal shooting from Tuesday.
22-year-old Ahmad Mondaine was found dead of a gunshot wound inside a silver car in the parking lot of Camelot Village Apartments, 5307 SW West Drive, around 3:20 pm Tuesday.
Police said Tuesday that evidence shows Mondaine may not have actually been shot in that parking lot.
