TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-Topeka's hockey team, the Roadrunners, is partnering with Topeka Habitat for Humanity to help raise awareness for affordable housing for the non- profit organization.

While the Roadrunners commitment to excellence on the ice is strong, their determination to give back to the community off the ice is even more so.

"It's very exciting. We like to have all different groups and we are excited that this group is helping us today," said Wendy Pearson from Habitat for Humanity.

"This community supports our team so much so its the least we can do..whatever it may be," said Roadrunner, Kyle Sharkey.

The Roadrunners' hockey team plan to help again March 19th by hosting a family fun day at Habitat's retail store.
