TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- Across the country girl scouts are taking part in National Cookie Days and our Topeka area girl scouts are hosting this event at Westridge Mall Saturday.

Girl Scouts dressed up as Thin Mints and Samoas to attract customers inside the mall to buy cookies.

Girl Scouts say the money they raise supports future camping trips and other fun activities.

Some say their goal was to raise 100-150 cookies Saturday.

13 News asked what their favorite cookie is and why and here is what they had to say:

"Lemonades!," said Katie Ernst, girl scout.

" I like thin mints and lemon," says Grace Sakai, girl scout.

"It really makes me feel good and happy and I am glad they are going to a good cause," says 10 year old Bentley Perry, who says she loves Thin Mints.

The girl scouts started selling cookies today at 10 Saturday morning and they will end at 8 Saturday night.
