Topeka Fire Captain Facing Assault Charges

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A preliminary hearing is set for a Topeka firefighter charged with four felony counts, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Claude Clark will be in Shawnee County District Court on August 15th. Court records show he's charged with one count of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated intimidation of a witness. The charges stem from a February incident.

City communications director Suzie Gilbert tells 13 News that Clark is a fire captain at Topeka station eight and remains a city employee. She referred any further comment to the District Attorney's office.
