Topeka Councilman Pushes "Full Equality" For LGBT Community

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Frustrated with a recent Kansas House bill aimed toward the gay community, Topeka City Councilman Chad Manspeaker said Tuesday night he does not want people viewing Topeka as a city of hate.

In comments at the end of Tuesday night's meeting, Manspeaker said he will soon propose a list of LGBT supportive ordinances, which would include a domestic partner registry, partner benefits for city employees and adding gender identity to the city hiring policy.
