Topeka Community Foundation Elects New Board Members

TOPEKA, Kan. (Press Release) - The Topeka Community Foundation has elected four new board members for three-year terms.

They are Tara Dimick, owner/president at E2 Communications, Inc.; Cheryl Kingfisher, district court judge, Kansas State Judicial Branch; Doug Sterbenz, executive vice president & chief operating officer,
at Westar Energy; and Dr. Julie Swift, periodontist at Topeka Periodontics, PA. Shelly Buhler, Shawnee County commissioner, was elected to a second three-year term.

Nancy Lewis was also elected as the Chair for 2014-15. The officers of the Board of Directors include Shelly Buhler, Vice Chair; James Schmank, Secretary; Brad Owen, Treasurer; and Dr. Grace Morrison, Immediate Past Chair.

The Topeka Community Foundation manages more than 350 funds created by individuals, families, businesses, civic and nonprofit organizations. The Foundation is 30 years old this year.

The mission of the Topeka Community Foundation is to connect donors with their interests and community needs, increase charitable giving in the community, provide leadership on key community issues and ensure stewardship and accountability for effective community investment of donor dollars.
