TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - One church cooked up Thanksgiving dinner for those who weren't able to spend it with family.

Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church prepared and served a Thanksgiving feast at the Breakthrough House clubhouse today for those dealing with mental illness.

Officials hope the event means a lot for those who would otherwise be spending the holiday alone.

The Methodist Church has served Thanksgiving dinner to Clubhouse members for more than 20 years.
