TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The City of Topeka has added the newest member of its financial leadership team. On Thursday, the city said it hired a new Chief Fiscal Officer and Controller - Treasurer.
Brandon Kauffman will help provide oversight for Topeka's $235 million budget. He starts February 24.
“Our goal is to build a strong leadership foundation, centered in individuals who share our vision for the future of this community,” said City Manager Jim Colson.
“Brandon has the technical skills to achieve operational success, and he will help strengthen the Finance Department to increase performance measurement and accountability.”
Kauffman has served as Finance Directorin Butler Co. since 2009 and was also the assistant county administrator since 2012.
He is the third addition to the city's financial leadership team, along with new Financial and Administrative Services Director Douglas Gerber and Budget Manager Nickie Lee.
