Fire Strikes Home In Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka Fire Department is currently investigating a structure fire at a home in Topeka.

Last night around 11, crews responded to a fire at 2507 SE Indiana Avenue. They saw smoke coming out of the house, and a small fire in the front living room.

The fire crews were able to extinguish it and keep it contained in the front room area.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire.

Information gathered from the investigation suggests that they fire was intentional. It caused about $27,500 in damage.

The Topeka Fire Department asks that anyone with knowledge about the cause of the fire to contact Crime Stoppers at 243-0007.
