TOPKEA, Kan. (WIBW)-It's a new year and many have made their New Year's resolution to lose weight.
"Jab, Power, Hook!" is what you hear during a class in what they call a "Power Hour." It has become the hottest fitness craze to sweep the nation and has just hit the streets in Topeka. It's Title Boxing Club.
"You can expect to come in here and have fun most definitely, but you're going to have to work hard also," said trainer, Matthew Foster.
"You have your own bag and your own gloves. You wrap your hands. You're going to expect a warm welcome. We're a smaller gym so everyone's friendly and personable. And then, as soon as class time starts you are ready for stretching, warm up at the bag," said General Manager and trainer, Lacy Seim.
Power Hour classes burn up to 1,000 calories. Trainers are former professional boxers and MMA fighters. The class is fun and energetic as member's follow the trainer's lead.
Not only does it help burn calories, it helps you with self-defense too. Women and men of all ages can participate. Members have already seen results.
"Since I have started here, I have lost 17 pounds," said Title Boxing Club member, Nick Leach.
Title Boxing Club is worth the shot. If you're interested in checking it out and becoming a member, it's located off of 15th and Wanamaker in Topeka.
