TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Tis the season for holiday lights and, for many the holiday tree!
13 News was on hand this morning when Topeka Mayor Larry Wolgast picked his favorite at this year's Festival of Trees.
The Mayor says he chose his award winner because it reminded him of a Kansas Christmas.
The 36th Annual Festival of Trees will showcase approximately 80 trees and wreaths at the Expocentre's Ag Hall.
Proceeds benefit sheltered living, an organization that helps people with intellectual disabilities achieve independence.
The festival of trees runs 9am to 8pm tomorrow, 9am to 4pm Friday, 8am to 4pm Saturday and 11am to 2pm on Sunday.
