TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka fire crews battled an early morning fire on the Capital City's north side.
Area residents notified the Topeka Fire Department shortly after 2 a.m. of a house fire at 1226 Northwest Jackson Street.
Three engine companies and two truck companies along with two battalion chiefs used a defensive attack and extinguished the blaze from the outside of the home.
Fire crews have determined the house was vacant and intentionally set from the inside.
The total amount of damage caused was a little $26,560.
