Three Charged With Attempted Murder For Miltonvale Hammer Attack

MILTONVALE, Kan. (WIBW) Three people are in jail charged with attempted murder after a Cloud County man was attacked with a hammer.

Cloud County Sheriffs deputies were called to 415 Elizabeth Street in Miltonvale around 10 o'clock Friday night in response to a fight.

When they arrived, they found David Dowdell, 46, suffering from a serious head injury.

Around 15 minutes later, deputies located the suspect's vehicle traveling south on Highway.

Inside the vehicle, authorities noticed a bloody hammer underneath the passenger seat and arrested Jason Weeks and Marlene Keil of Salina, and Leroy Taylor of Clay Center.

All three were taken to the Cloud County Sheriff's department and booked for attempted murder.

Officials also found packets of meth and a large amount of cash inside the car.

Dowdell is in a Salina hospital being treated for his head injury. His condition is unknown.
