TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The grant patrol was working double duty, visiting several USD 501 classrooms.
The Topeka Public Schools Foundation awarded more than $40,000 in grants to deserving teachers for projects in their school or classroom.
Surprised with visits were McClure Elementary, receiving $900.00 for its Youth Leadership Academy. The grant patrol then visited Landon Middle School,handing over $500.00 for its Book Club and another $500.00 for Library Enhancements.
A total of thirty grants were approved to fund innovative projects and provide educational opportunities for students that may not otherwise be possible.
