Teen Drowns In Clay County Friday

CLAY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW)--A teen drown in a pond in Clay County Friday afternoon.

The Clay County Sheriff's Department responded to a pond north of the intersection at 4th and Deer Trail just before 4:30 p.m.

The body of 15-year-old Tommy Watt was recovered just after 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Watt was swimming with a friend and began struggling to get to shore. A friend was trying to help him when he went under water and didn't resurface.

An autopsy will be performed.
